GENERAL ENGLISH 100

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Students will take a written and oral placement test (TOEFL Based) on the first day to determine their English level.

Students who score at the Beginner or Intermediate level will be placed in General English.

Students who score above the Intermediate level can choose any of the English Programs offered or may continue in General English.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The General English course prepares students for conversational and everyday use.

The major topics include:

Communicative Grammar– Designed to help students apply learned grammar into applicable, real-life communication with other speakers.

Integrated Skills– Students understand how to gather information by reading and listening to the various TOEFL English materials through audio and visual aids.

Pronunciation– Through repetition and linguistic teaching methods the student learns how to correctly convey the English language. This covers the different sounds, word stresses, contrastive stress, and connective speech.
